Makeup Artist for Your Stress-Free Wedding Day
Bride & Groom: Lydia + Richard
Photography: Wild & Grace
Makeup & Hair: Events Makeup
It was so much fun to be part of Lydia and Richard’s special day. I spent the morning doing Lydia’s and her five beautiful bridesmaids’ makeup while the girls were opening presents, playing games and drinking champagne. Their playful energy was carried into the photoshoot on the beach, creating lasting memories.

Hiring a professional hair and makeup artist is the number one secret to a stress-free wedding day. On this special day, you should not spend time worrying if your eyeliner is straight and if your hair will hold until the celebration is over. With a professional makeup artist, you will have a trial prior to your wedding day to discuss and try the makeup look and bridal hairstyle you want. Consult with your artist on the hair and makeup schedule, and brief your bridal party so there is no confusion about who goes first. Consider your bridesmaids and mother’s preferences. It is common for the mother of the bride to have her hair and makeup done earlier so she is available to help out before the ceremony. Everyone is worried if their hair and makeup will last the day. I always remind my clients that, even if you are the very first on the list, your hair and makeup will be checked and retouched before you walk out the door.
Book the wedding photographer to arrive one or two hours before the bridal party is scheduled to leave for the ceremony. That way, the photographer will be able to capture you getting ready and it gives plenty of time for detail shots: your bridal gown on a hanger, shoes, jewellery, etc. By planning your wedding makeup & hair schedule, you will have a stress-free morning with your bridesmaids, arriving to the ceremony relaxed and ready to go.
